The Drink

Christ, harmonies are good. Singing the same sort of thing but a tiny bit different but so it’s kind of the same. Who’d have thought it’d work so well? The Drink’s approach to the formula involves mathy structures underscored by solid rhythms and some of the most gobsmacking vocal parts we’ve heard since the chuffing Beach Boys. Their tunes chug along with the mechanical intensity of Stereolab and the graceful eeriness of Warpaint and they peddle a post-folk, post-rock breadth that’s hard to shake off and even harder to ignore. If that’s not recommendation enough they’re the first unsigned to be stocked in Rough Trade shops in a lifetime. This is one bandwagon you’re not gonna want to miss.
