We Love… Sundays

6 July | Space, Ibiza

It’s time to find a new day of rest as We Love… Sundays at Space has returned to the white isle for another summer of parties celebrating its 15th year. Once again displaying some of the biggest names in the electronic music world, it’s clear to see why We Love… continues to reign supreme as one of the biggest club nights on the island. This summer boasting residents such as Skream, James Zabiela, Sasha, Paul Woolford, Ben UFO, Bicep and Disclosure.

The thing that strikes us about Sundays at Space is its ability to bring out the best in people. Space is renowned for offering its punters an eclectic mix of dance music, enough genres to keep even the fussiest of ravers happy. This year returning to its day time party roots and the earlier time of 4:30, the new concept Stripped is a seven hour terrace party that has a mystery line up each week. The idea relies on you turning up in good faith with the We Love… team promising that these mystery DJ’s will be well worth turning up early for.  Kick starting things on the terrace this week and warming things up nicely was Jem Haynes, who’s previous accomplished performances in the Discoteca has led to him becoming a firm We Love… favourite. The mystery guests keep the crowd moving on a musical adventure offering some of the best house music up until midnight, an all round, massive thumbs up for stripped.

A little after midnight the crowds descended on the main room to see the likes of Simian Mobile Disco, James Zabelia and George Fitzgerald  & Scuba B2B. It didn’t take long for the Discoteca to fill up, a moody lit room with many watching on in awe as Simian Mobile Disco pleased the crowd with their dark tech house set. Nicely warmed up, the crowd were taken on a completely different musical journey as James Zabelia took to the booth for a passionate, high energy set. That enthusiasm seemed to rub off on the crowd as the hundreds of ravers crammed into the Discoteca bounced around ferociously on the dance floor. Without doubt the highlight of the night was George Fitzgerald and Scuba B2B. Two producers who are on top of their game right now, the pair had the crowd eating out of the palms of their hands as they threw down a delicious mix of old and new.

Forget about doing anything on your Sundays, the much loved institution that is We Love… continues to be the pinnacle and one of the most enduring parties on the island.
