Luxury Death – Glue

Back with a new single, ex-Nai Harvest guitarist and his girlfriend Meg Williams return under the Luxury Death guise with the pensive Glue.

Lifted from their EP of the same name, which drops on 24 February via PNKSLM (Punk Slime) Recordings, the song tells the story of a love affair in retrograde. As they described it, “Glue is an expression of that tight, unbalanced unity.”

With faint keyboards, loose harmonies and a general aesthetic founded in no-wave, DIY visuals, the song, and it’s accompanying video directed by Lucas Chemotti, paint a vivid picture of a binding romance.

Speaking to us via email, Chemotti broke down the essential balancing act of this Glue video, “The chains were the first piece of imagery I wanted to use in the video. When I showed Ben and Meg I could tell they were just as happy with it. The comparison of harsh materials like barbwire or chains with playful dancing felt very anti-luxury to me. More important than the imagery to me however was the ‘raw’ feeling you get watching it. I wanted to make a video that sustained that feeling from start to finish.”
