U – The Kids Will Take Care of Themselves
The latest release on Erol Alkan’s Phantasy label is a 4 track EP of giddy, electronic fuzz that packs the subtlest of punches, descends into dense glitch noise, then returns triumphant, gritty and melodic. The EP is by the enigmatic London-based producer U and it’s called Haven In A Heartfelt World. We’re happy to share the premiere of the video for U’s new track The Kids Will Take Care of Themselves today, but before you watch it here’s a few words direct from U about the track.
Sometimes it’s not so much about listening to music, but listening to your own ways of listening.
It’s much more to do with hearing your own ways of hearing.
You hear a sound, you hear an emotion.
You hear a friction of emotions, and then you have to decide what those emotions are.
You have to decide what’s the tension they’re generating, the rub between them.
And then you have to name them.
Haven In A Heartfelt World is available prior to official release exclusively through
Boomkat. Check out the video for The Kids Will Take Care of Themselves above.
