Yeah Yeah Yeahs share details of new album, unveil horrendous/amazing artwork

Yeah Yeah Yeahs’ fourth album Mosquito will be released on April 16th via Interscope records, it’s been announced today. The impressively ugly artwork that’s pictured above is apparently the album’s official cover.

Mosquito is the follow up to 2009’s synth-heavy It’s Blitz. Once again, the band have recruited David Sitek of TV on the Radio to fulfill production duties. There’s no confirmed tracklisting yet, but it’s been announced that the album features a track produced by James Murphy which features Dr. Octagon, the extraterrestrial alter-ego of NY rapper Kool Keith.
