Welcome back to Selections, a series of exclusive artist-curated Spotify playlists from those in the know.

A ballet enthusiast turned DJ and producer, the Russian-born and Copenhagen-based artist Anastasia Kristensen is one of the producers spotlighting the Danish capital’s thriving techno scene. With her broad scope of influences covering ballet, classic Detroit and 90s techno, her sets often veer into a different direction at a moment’s notice, making for unpredictable listening.

Though the artist hasn’t helmed many releases yet, she’s quickly making her mark with her hard-hitting sets, and 2016 saw her release the track Spring Ballade via Nous Disques.

We jumped at the opportunity to root through the young producer’s crates and discover the sounds that inform her sets. Below, you’ll find cuts from Ploy, M.E.S.H., DJ Spider and a track of her own, entitled Going Back in Time.

Anastasia Kristensen plays Exit Festival at Petrovaradin Fortress, Serbia, on 12-15 July.
