Parc del Fòrum, Barcelona

This year, the large-scale Spanish festival drew in its crowds with a diverse line-up of artists – from A-list headliners to indie acts and rap heavyweights.

Highlights include Björk capturing festival-goers with an enchanting, picturesque set, dressed in an alien-orchid mask besides her troupe of flute players. Having released Flower Boy last year, Tyler, the Creator delivered a captivating performance with floral-inspired visuals that brought his album to life onstage. Elsewhere at the event, Primavera Sound hosted a rollout of Crack Magazine favourites, such as our current cover star Jorja Smith, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Car Seat Headrest, Fever Ray and A$AP Rocky. Uniting the impressive line-up was a rebellious feel, with Primavera’s programme enlisting artists unafraid of going against the status quo.

Photographer Róisín Murphy lensed the event as it unfolded, capturing backstage portraits and those action-packed moments onstage that made Primavera an unforgettable highlight on the calendar this year. View the gallery below, and read our review here.
