In photos: Primavera Sound 2019

Large in scope and ambition, we’re still waiting for the dust to settle on this year’s extraordinary Primavera Sound.

As Sammy Jones pointed out in her review, published earlier this week, it’s a rare thing to find genre-leading acts such as FKA twigs and Solange neatly programmed next to cult bands like Built to Spill and Shellac. It’s even rarer – sadly – to revel in a programme that is gender-split 50/50. From hyper-pop’s reigning queen Charli XCX to Spanish superstar Rosaliá, Objekt’s debut live show to the arena-sized subversion of Janelle Monáe, you can read our full rundown of the 2019 edition here.
