At the beginning of this month, Sónar kicked off its 30th anniversary tour in the Portuguese capital.

To mark the milestone and the second Sónar Lisboa edition, the festival did what it does best – offering a packed programme of electronic music that celebrated the club culture at the heart of the festival for the past three decades.

From 31 March to 2 April, Parque Eduardo VII – Sónar Lisboa’s main home – saw performances and sets from the likes of VTSS, James Holden, Violet b2b Photonz and Sofia Kourtesis as well as amapiano duo Major League DJz and a live audiovisual show from Max Cooper. The weekend event – which will be followed by Sónar’s Istanbul and Barcelona editions in the coming months – also featured appearances from Lady Shaka, Or:la and SHERELLE b2b Kode9 plus the return of Sónar+D, the festival’s cultural programme exploring the intersection of art, science, and digital culture.
