Welcome back to Selections, a series of artist-curated playlists from those in the know.

Today’s Selections offering comes from Belgian producer SKY H1, who’ll appear in the Sicilian village of Milo this evening for a performance at Opera Festival’s opening proceedings alongside visual artist Mika Oki.

It’s hard to put a finger on SKY H1’s distinctive sound, but much of her appeal stems from an ability to tease emotional intensity out of any genre or reference she sees fit, from ambient and instrumental grime to more nebulous shades of contemporary club music.

Whether she’s casting her gaze across a swaying dancefloor, on tracks such as All I Ever and Air, or doubling down on more introspective stylings on her stunning debut album Azure, the producer’s work remains lush and atmospheric as it propels you on a deep and inward-facing journey. It’s the kind of music fit for wanderers, or those seeking soundtrack-like material to guide them through their daily routines.

SKY H1’s Buy Music Club playlist takes the same tack, with the artist describing the evocative picks as a “selection of older and newer tracks that I keep coming back and listening to regularly.” Tune in to hear tunes from the likes of Perila, Coby Sey, HTRK, 700 Bliss and Klara Lewis.
