Welcome back to Selections, a series of artist-curated playlists from those in the know.

2021 was a life-altering year for TAAHLIAH. It saw the Glasgow-based DJ and producer release her debut project Angelica – a seven-track helping of hard club sounds and jagged edges lacquered with pop’s glossy sheen. The record earned her a number of industry accolades, including a nomination for the Scottish Album of the Year Award. TAAHLIAH was also the first Black trans artist to win at the Scottish Alternative Music Awards the year prior, taking home prizes for Best Newcomer and Best Electronic Act. A momentous achievement.

Given her status as a fast-rising figure at the forefront of Scottish club culture, it makes sense that TAAHLIAH was tapped for a live show at this year’s Riverside Festival, which will celebrate homegrown acts and global talent alike. Ahead of the event, which takes place from 2-4 June at the Riverside Museum, TAAHLIAH has whipped up a Buy Music Club playlist that she’s titled ‘Pop in my Mind’.

“This selection of tracks communicates my ideas of pop music and what has been exciting me, sonically, over the past few months,” she tells us. “This is a playlist filled with emotion, experimentation and joy.” Hit play.
