Gramrcy

Crack Mix 204 comes hot off the desk of one of our favourite selectors: Gramrcy.

Having cut his teeth on the Bristol scene, Gramrcy founded the much-loved club night Housework alongside Shanti Celeste and Golesworthy before relocating to Berlin, where he has recently been tapped for a residency at NYC-Berlin party Climate of Fear.

Despite having lived in the German capital for a number of years, Gramrcy keeps the south-west connection strong, spending time in the studio with the likes of Tessela and Hodge (the latter of whom he teamed up with for the Killer A1 on Midnight Shift’s five year compilation, with a full EP and further solo work to follow) and still runs Housework alongside Shanti.

Rave and hardcore influences have always loomed large in Gramrcy’s output – check the raucous Ruffian EP released via Berceuse Heroique sub-label Ancient Monarchy by way of example – and his Crack Mix is no different. Clocking in at just under 90 minutes, it’s a neck-snapping ride replete with breakbeats and piano stabs. Absolutely guaranteed to put a smile on your face.
