Made up of twin vocalists Makan Nana and Khera, and Malathon, the pioneering gqom trio deliver an hour of dark, intense heaters.
The Durban trio have recently released a timeline of gqom, entitled 2013-2019, on Nyege Nyege Tapes. Elements of their sound hark back to toyi toyi protests in South Africa, where vocals and dance were both used to intimidate police, and to convey a message to the government during a climate of political unrest.
This would naturally make the trio the best placed, then, to stitch together a fiery and spellbinding Crack Mix, and they’ve enlisted the help of DJ MP3 to put it all together for them.
