From the depths of Brooklyn’s basements to the golden-decked heights of the Boiler Room, Fernow has both singlehandedly and collaboratively canonised New York’s noise and power electronics scene. Having more aliases than Voldemort has horcruxes, Fernow’s Vatican Shadow remix of Volta Forte is a 16-minute synthesis of crunching bass and distortion.

The song appears on the the official EP for Festival Forte, which will be taking place in Portugal’s Montemor-o-velho Castle between August 27-29.  Vatican Shadow joins a line-up including the likes of Robert Henke, Ben Klock, Donato Dozzy, Regis and Front 242, in an actual castle.
