Listen to Jeff Bridges’ ambient spoken word album

Big Lebowski actor Jeff Bridges has recorded an ambient spoken word album entitled Sleeping Tapes. The album has been made in collaboration with True Detective and Nashville composer Keefus Ciancia and engineer Doug Sax.

Sleeping Tapes has been designed to help the listener to drift off and features soft piano, field recordings, ambient drones and Bridges’ spoken vocals. Bridges himself described falling asleep during the recording; “While working on the Sleeping Tapes album we put in some long hours,” He said. “Listening back to our day’s work, I’d often drift off. I’d wake up and smile saying, ‘This stuff works.’”

The double album has been launched as a pay-what-you-want download from Squarespace site Dancingwithjeff.com. Vinyl and cassette versions will be released in the near future with all profits will going to Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry campaign. You can listen to the whole thing below.
