Watch a rare, sobering ODB interview from 1997

The full 33 minute video of a rare Ol’ Dirty Bastard interview has surfaced online. Filmed in 1997 for MTV, the interviewer’s probing questions occasionally pierced through Dirty’s unapologetically wild, drugged-out persona, leading to discussions about his children, drug and alcohol addiction, the growing distance between himself and the Wu-Tang Clan (he only appeared on 6 of the 27 tracks on the group’s ’97 album Wu-Tang Forever)  and his friendship with Mariah Carey.

Ol’ Dirty Bastard died from a drug overdose in 2004 at the age of 35. You can watch the ’97 interview over at Rap Genius
