Despite speculation, the group have ruled out future live shows

In 2012, Beastie Boys member Adam “MCA” Yauch passed away at the age of 47. Earlier this week, there was speculation that the group’s remaining members Mike D and Adam “Ad-Rock” Horovitz were planning to perform live again after they filed a trademark application with the United States Patent and Trademark Office in conjunction with “live performances by a musical group”.

However, a representative for the band has confirmed that “There will never be Beastie Boys live performances without Adam Yauch” in a statement sent to Pitchfork.

Beastie Boys released their final album Hot Sauce Committee Part Two in 2011. Following Adam Yauch’s death, it was reported that his will prohibited the use of his music or “artistic property” for advertisement purposes. Revisit the video for their ’92 single So What’cha Want below.
