The Pope’s new clouter sounds a bit like Mogwai (no, really)
No one saw this coming. Pope Francis, the current, liberal Pope who feels a bit like a cool supply teacher who lets you smoke behind the bike shed, is releasing an album of spoken word tracks layered over soaring post-rock grooves. Think Explosions In The Sky meets the Bible and you’re halfway there.
The first track, which features a monologue to a South Korean audience recorded last year, has the distinctly Godspeed-esque title Wake Up! Go! Go Forward! and we’ve actually been enjoying it quite a lot here in the Crack office. We really didn’t think we’d be ending our Friday like this but hey, anything can happen right?
