You must watch this trailer for a DIY Chinese TuPac film

EMOTIONS. DAWN. A REVOLUTION.

This is straight up magic.

TuPac has been immortalised by a DIY documentary straight outta China, and the trailer is gold from start to finish. The description for the video describes it thus:

“A young hip-hop influenced college student in China is required by his professor to research American Civil Rights and Activism. In choosing Renascence [sic] man Tupac Shakur, he finds himself learning more than expected. After meeting a former girlfriend of Mr. Shakur in China, things take a turn from just another class project to a life changing event.”

…but oh, it’s so much more than that.

The influences we can sense are 8 Mile, seedy 90s music documentaries, misplaced flamboyance, bad filters, and static, straight up static. See it above.

God bless Stereogum and Complex for bringing this to our attention.
