Portishead have revealed a politically-charged video for their cover of Abba’s SOS and dedicated the song to murdered Labour MP Jo Cox
Portishead originally recorded their cover of Abba’s low-key dark anthem SOS last year for the soundtrack of British sci-fi film High Rise last year. The band have now shared a moody video for the song. The video features the band’s Beth Gibbons looking down before turning to the camera and extending a hand to the audience before the clip ends with a quote from murdered Labour MP Jo Cox: “We have far more in common than which divides us.” as well as the hashtag #MoreInCommon.
