Did the BBC accidentally reveal Green Day and Ed Sheeran as Glastonbury headliners?

The media company may have leaked information on Green Day and Ed Sheeran being set to play at Worthy Farm

During the BBC’s coverage last Friday (24 February) of the Foo Fighters’ Frome gig, they announced that the American rock band will be headlining Glastonbury. This is the second announcement so far of who will be performing.

However, the reporters may have accidentally leaked further information on headliner slots. When rounding up the musicians who had been confirmed for the bill, Green Day and Ed Sheeran were also namedropped.

A statement was later released on their site: “A previous version of this story mistakenly said Ed Sheeran and Green Day have also been confirmed. This is an error and was not based on any official sources.”

So could Ed Sheeran and Green Day be playing at the British festival? The speculation begins.

So far, Radiohead have been confirmed as the Friday headliners. Head here for more news on Glastonbury.
