LCD Soundsystem “had no idea” about reissues

The band have said that the announcement didn’t come from them

Yesterday (12 June), it was announced that classic LCD Soundsystem albums – LCD Soundsystem, 45:33, This Is Happening and the London Sessions – will be reissued on wax via Rhino this month.

However, the band have now responded to the reissue, stating that they were unaware of the releases. Via their publicist, the band have said that they “certainly aren’t announcing shit”. The statement urges fans to “just buy the records from DFA, like you have been able to for years”.

Furthermore, the band have commented on the Rhino announcement, noting that it names the group as “‘one of the freshest sounds on the London underground scene in the early 2000s,’ so that shows how seriously anyone should take it.”

The new album has now been completed, according to Murphy, and it’ll feature the two new tracks Call The Police and American Dream. Check out the two tracks here.

The group have confirmed a string of shows this year, including a series of performances at New York’s Brooklyn Steel. You can find more tour dates here.
