The Wytches (The Invada Sessions)

We’re back with another session straight from Portishead main man Geoff Barrow’s Invada Studios in Bristol and this time we’ve recruited one of our favourite bands of 2014 for a full set of doom-drenched surf rock.

Brighton’s The Wytches entered 2014 with a bang and refused to leave, their live sets were some of the most lauded and their debut album Annabel Dream Reader was a shimmering, unsettling masterpiece. It seemed like a natural fit and a great follow on from our last sessions with another of the UK’s most exciting indie bands; Eagulls. This video sees the three piece perform Digsaw, the opening track from Annabel…, a selection of tracks from the album as well as Darker, a phenomenal track that didn’t make the final cut.

We’d like to extend our thanks to the good people over at Invada Studios for their help in recording the set, the crew at Bad for filming and editing and of course, The Wytches, for showing up and absolutely killing it. Check it out below.
