Drake offered to fund third series of Top Boy

The rapper was addicted to the now-defunct East London series

Channel 4 cult watch Top Boy‘s last series was unfortunately pegged to be its last – but now there’s some chat around a Drake-funded third series, possibly based in Chicago.

Drake was understandably devastated after the series bowed out, and as a result decided to made himself known to rapper-turned-actor Asher D through his manager Future.

After some to and fro over text, Drake offered to lay some money out.

“I was speaking to Future mainly, Drake’s manager.” Asher told The Mirror. “We were going back and forth. And we were like, ‘Put a deal on the table’.”

However, Cowboy Films, the series’ production company, wanted more money to make the third series.

Asher D is now unsure of the series’ future, but has hinted at a third instalment in the Windy City.

“I don’t know what is going on with it – but I heard they are talking about a Top Boy Chicago.”
