Kendrick’s How Much a Dollar Cost was President Obama’s song of 2015

Meanwhile First Lady Michelle Obama was vibing on Uptown Funk this year

Not even the President of the United States can avoid list season. In an interview with PEOPLE magazine, both Barack and Michelle Obama were quizzed on their favourite songs, books, movies and TV shows of the year – and for Barack, Kendrick Lamar’s religious allegory, How Much a Dollar Cost, from our album of the year, To Pimp a Butterfly was his song of the year.

Michelle plumped for Bruno Mars’ Uptown Funk songs-wise, and when it came to films, Barack enjoyed the Matt Damon space adventure The Martian the most, and Michelle loved animated caper Inside Out. Their books of choice were Fates and Furies by Lauren Groff and The Elizabeth Alexander’s Light of the World. Michelle picked out her favourite TV show as Black-ish, and Barack went for The Knick.
