Get well soon Nardwuar!

Comedian and music journalist Nardwuar has suffered a stroke

Arguably Canada’s most famous music journalist, Nardwuar The Human Serviette, is best known for his off-kilter interviews that delve almost too deep into artists’ personal history. His offbeat, unique approach has provided some of the funniest (and most awkward) responses in the history of music journalism. Throughout his career he’s interviewed everyone from Grimes, who had no idea how to react, to Ian MacKaye who knew exactly how to react, to Odd Future who gave as good as they got.

On Wednesday Nardwuar announced the sad news that he has suffered a stroke and is in an emergency ward via a photo on his Twitter feed. The post explains that he suffered the stroke while at a Mint Records Christmas party and is currently recovering at Vancouver General Hospital. The tweet also shows an ambulance’s navigation system charting a route to the hospital noting that they are carrying a “confused male” with an “altered level of consciousness.”

We hope that Nardwuar’s road to recovery is swift and thorough and wish him all the best.
