Beyonce’s SuperBowl performance sparks anti-“race-baiting” protest

Opposers to Beyonce’s Formation performance will stage a protest outside the NFL’s NYC headquarters next week

A Facebook group calling Beyonce’s SuperBowl performance “hate speech” and “racism” has organised an “anti-Beyonce protest rally” set for 16 February at  NFL’s Manhattan headquarters.

“Are you offended as an American that Beyoncé pulled her race-baiting stunt at the Superbowl?” reads the Eventbrite event description. “Do you agree that it was a slap in the face to law enforcement? Do you agree that the Black Panthers was/is a hate group which should not be glorified?”

Former NYC mayor Rudy Giuliani has also aired his negative reaction to the SuperBowl performance.

“This is football, not Hollywood, and I thought it was really outrageous that she used it as a platform to attack police officers who are the people who protect her and protect us, and keep us alive,” he said.

UPDATE: Only pro-Beyonce supporters were spotted outside the NFL headquarters, meaning the anti-Beyonce protesters must have had a change of heart and stayed at home. Interviewed by 1010 WINS, one of the supporters bemoaned the lack of opposition: “I’m disappointed… I really wanted to talk to them and hear their side.”
