The first wave of acts have been revealed

With a global line-up curated by rapper and activist M.I.A., the first names have been unveiled for Meltdown Festival’s 24th edition.

Names that have been announced today (28 March) include Mykki Blanco, hip-hop’s favourite Sad Boy Yung Lean, Canadian duo Crystal Castles, afrobeat and grime rapper Afrikan Boy and Brooklyn MC Young M.A.

On her curation of the line-up, M.I.A. says, “I’m bringing together new outlaw musicians from everywhere, who have contributed to keeping things weird, exciting, opinionated, loud, emotional and brave or off the grid in the present climate.”

Performances will be taking place at the Southbank Centre between 9-18 June.
