New Arcade Fire single Everything Now to be premiered today on US stations

And there’s a mysterious online live stream from Death Valley

It’s a good day for Arcade Fire fans. It’s been confirmed earlier today (1 June) that the band have signed a two-album deal with Columbia Records. In the past, the group have released all of their previous albums through Merge Records.

Their new single, Everything Now, was surprise released on 12″ orange vinyl yesterday at Primavera Sound, along with new merchandise. According to the fan site Arcade Fire Tube, the song has a “catchy hook, breakdown, and a pan flute”. Now, two US radio stations will be premiering the single today at 2.30PM ET, or 7.30PM GMT.

Additionally, there’s a live stream which currently, at time of writing (11:11AM), shows the Everything Now ‘EN’ logo beneath the image of the track title glowing against a dark background. The site boldly states that it’s ‘live from Death Valley’. Earlier today, the live stream image was in a desert area, with ‘everything now’ written on a sign in Korean: 지금모든 것.

Furthermore, there’s been teasers and Everything Now posters have been spotted around major cities, including London and Amsterdam. There’s also been some activity on the band’s Instagram and Tumblr accounts. At the moment, the Instagram contains one post showing the band’s new merchandise. On Tumblr, a celestial Star Wars-esque teaser is available to watch now. A narrator speaks over the clip, saying, “We step out of our solar system into the universe, seeking only peace and friendship”.

Yesterday, the band tweeted an update, telling fans to “Stay tuned for Infinite Content”. Since, fans have been speculating that the ten symbols on the new merchandise could allude to ten songs on a new album, possibly titled Infinite Content.
