Influential key figures from the label will be coming together to celebrate 25 years of Ninja Tune

Bristol’s Simple Things Festival has announced a special panel discussion hosted by imprint Ninja Tune. The panel, titled ‘Independent since 1990, a conversation with Ninja Tune featuring Coldcut & The Bug’, will be taking place at Bristol IMAX, on 19 October. To mark 25 years of operation, seminal artists and key figures from the label will be coming together to discuss the label’s history and its place in the musical landscape.

The polymathic writer, composer and producer Kevin Martin, known as The Bug, has been announced for the panel. He’ll be joined by Coldcut’s Matt Black who co-founded Ninja Tune, label project manager Theresa Adebiyi and A&R Vidhi Gandhi.

First beginning in the 90s, the record label has brought some of electronic music’s finest purveyors to the forefront and dropped releases from a roster of Crack favourites, including former cover star Helena Hauff. With a focus on artists who defy classification, the label has forged an alternative route for those who sit outside of major label frameworks.
