The National announced for NOS Alive 2018

The National new album

The Lisbon festival has confirmed five-piece indie outfit The National as their first act for 2018.

NOS Alive will be taking place at Passeio Marítimo de Algés on 12-14 July, and The National are due to play on the second day.

For their 2017 edition, the festival played host to Depeche Mode, Savages, The Weeknd and Floating Points.

This year, the band released Sleep Well Beast in September via 4AD. The album includes the singles The System Dreams In Total Darkness and Guilty Party. On the follow-up to 2015’s A Lot of Sorrow, band member Bryce Dessner said on BBC 6 Music, “In the past it felt like we made the songs we could make and this time we wanted to make the songs we wanted”. He added that the Brooklyn-based group wanted to go to “a new place musically” for their latest release.

Tickets for NOS Alive are available now on their website.
