David De Gea loves Slipknot

Football goalie is apparently into the work of the knot

Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea attended Korn and Slipknot’s gig on Tuesday night, tweeting an image of the headliner’s “amazing” show.

This isn’t the first time that De Gea has expressed his love for Iowa’s 18-legged hate machine. When asked in 2013 which songs he’d like added to the Old Trafford playlist, he said: “Given the music I like I’m not sure they would get added! I’d definitely have something from Avenged Sevenfold on there, and also Slipknot and some Spanish music as well.”

De Gea’s love for metal seems to be a source of controversy among the team. “When I put it on in the dressing room, everyone moans,” he said during an interview for United’s official website. “Most of the other players are into hip-hop.” In particular, all the high-octane riffage became a problem for his RnB-loving former teammate Patrice Eva, who was handed pre-match music duties from Gary Neville. “David’s asked Patrice if he’ll change the music. He’s more thrash metal than RnB,” a source told the Metro in 2013. “‘He’s asked to have tracks by Slayer and Napalm Death added to the dressing room playlist.”
