Speculations arose on 4Chan that Ariel Pink may have provided vocals
UPDATE: The track isn’t by The Avalanches after all. We noticed because the Soundcloud track name now reads ‘THIS ENDED UP NOT ACTUALLY BEING A NEW LEAKED AVALANCHES TRACK’. Turns out, it’s a version of a track by the producer Amherst, who’s also slightly gutted about the situation.
A new track from The Avalanches may have surfaced online. The track, which is called Another World, was debuted on Australian radio station RAW FM. As FACT point out, 4Chan users have been speculating that the track possibly includes the vocals of Ariel Pink.
The enigmatic Aussie group haven’t released an album since their 2000 debut Since I Left You (which spawned the hit single Frontier Psychiatrist), but in recent years various stories have emerged regarding the status of their long-awaited follow-up, which has reportedly been in the making since 2005.
Those confirmed to have worked on the project include Royal Trux/Black Bananas’ Jeniffer Herrema, Danny Brown, David Berman of the Silver Jews as well as Ariel Pink. Listen to Another World and revisit the video for Frontier Psychiatrist below.
