Secret 7″ returns in April, submit your sleeve art now

The popular illustration project returns

Secret 7” is back this April at Somerset House. The annual project unites music and art for a good cause, taking iconic tracks from seven esteemed musicians and pressing each one 100 times to vinyl, with this year’s Secret 7″s featuring classics from the likes of Diana Ross, Underworld and Peter Gabriel. The 700 records each get their own one-of-a-kind sleeve as designed by 700 creatives.Submissions for sleeves are open to all, with anyone from high profile artists to emerging designers contributing. The entire collection will be displayed at Somerset House throughout April, before going up for sale on 4 May. Here’s where the ‘secret’ element comes in: the buyer won’t know what the record is or who has designed the sleeve until they have purchased it. With each record priced at £50, all profits from the sale go to Nordoff Robbins, a music therapy charity dedicated to transforming the lives of vulnerable children and adults.

Submissions for sleeve designs are now being accepted on the website. Closing date for entries is 4 March. Secret 7″s go on display at Somerset House throughout April, head here for more information about the event and check out this year’s tracks below.
