Stream Belle & Sebastian’s ‘Girls in Peacetime Want To Dance’

The Scottish indie pop band share dance influenced new album

Belle and Sebastian’s latest album Girls in Peacetime Want To Dance is now streaming in full over on NPR. The record contains synth-pop elements that singer Stuart Murdoch claims were inspired by the Eurovision Song Contest.

“I remember saying to the band, I want to do an album that one song feels like it could be the Cyprus entry for 1974 and the next song would be the German entry for 1989.” Murdoch told Rolling Stone.  The album also contains a disco song about Sylvia Plath.
