The drone behemoths are finally ready to unleash more sonic mayhem
2014 was a big year for Sunn O))). The American drone duo released a critically lauded album with 60s pop star turned avant-garde musician Scott Walker as well as a collaborative effort with Norwegian experimental collective Ulver.
They have now announced that they will be working on a new full-length Sunn O))) record this year as well as embarking on EU and US tours. In a recent message to their fans the band said:
“First of all SUNN O))) would like to wish you and your people all the best for a healthy, prosperous and epic 2015. It’s going to be a massive year!
O))) are working on three new tours in both US and EU and also will be continuing work on a brand new SUNN O))) album across the span of 015. We are looking forward to unleash to the masses.”
Following on from a series of demos, splits and collaborations the new album marks the first full-length studio album to be released purely under the Sunn O))) moniker since 2009’s Monoliths and Dimensions.
