Wu-Tang Clan’s GZA has shared a new single The Mexican, which is based around samples of Babe Ruth’s 1972 track of the same time. The track features Hanni El Khatib, Unknown Mortal Orchestra’s Ruban Nielson and former Rage Against The Machine guitarist Tom Morello. GZA and Morello presumably go way back, as Wu-Tang joined (and later dropped out of) a US tour with Rage back in 1997.
GZA is expected to release Dark Matter – his first solo album since 2008 – late this year. Listen t0 The Mexican, which won’t be on the album, below
