Max Richter to score Virginia Woolf-inspired ballet ‘Woolf Works’

Berlin-based composer and all round polymath Max Richter has written the score for new ballet Woolf Works. The fourth collaboration between Max Richter and the acclaimed Royal Ballet Resident Choreographer Wayne McGregor, Woolf Works is a biographical narrative based on the life of Virginia Woolf, running at the Royal Opera House through May. The ballet is a journey through three of Woolf’s landmark novels; Mrs Dalloway, Orlando and The Waves, as well as a selection of her autobiographical writings, with Richter providing “epic orchestral onslaughts” as the backdrop to the piece.

Woolf Works runs 11 – 23 May at the Royal Opera House. Read our interview with Max Richter here.
