Beach House announce new album

Depression Cherry will be released 28 August on Bella Union.

Victoria Legrand and Alex Scally are back with another LP under their Beach House moniker. The pair’s last album Bloom came out in 2012 and pushed their dream-pop sound into new realms. Depression Cherry was apparently recorded at Studio in the Country in Bogalusa, Louisiana and takes on a more stripped back sound according to the band.

“This record shows a return to simplicity, with songs structured around a melody and a few instruments, with live drums playing a far lesser role.” They say, “We continue to let ourselves evolve while fully ignoring the commercial context in which we exist.

Depression Cherry will be released 28 August on Bella Union. In the meantime check out the album’s tracklist and artwork – which will be printed on a red velvet sleeve – and revisit the band’s hypnotic video for Zebra below.
