Jamie XX and more to provide soundscapes for The National Gallery

From 8 July – 6 September musicians will be soundtracking paintings of their choice.

From July, the National Gallery will give visitors a different look at their collection. A host of contemporary sound artists and musicians – including Nico Muhly, Susan Philipsz, Gabriel Yared, Jamie xx, Chris Watson, Janet Cardiff and George Bures Miller – have been invited to respond to six paintings of their choice from the gallery’s collection through sound.

Each soundscape has been created exclusively for the exhibition and will only be available within the exhibition space for the duration of the show.

You can visit The National Gallery’s website for more information on the show.
