The Odd Future rapper has dropped the SS15 Golf Wang collection via his Golf Wang Media app.
The collection features graphics borrowed from White Pride, re appropriated as a ‘Golf Pride World Wide’, a rainbow-print fuck-you to Neo-Nazi’s everywhere.
Tyler explains his motivations via this blog post. ‘What if a black guy wore this logo on a shirt? Would he be promoting self hate? Would he be taking the power out of a shape? What if a gay guy wore this on a shirt? Would he promoting Homophobia? …it was me playing with the idea of taking the power out of something so stupid. Or maybe my whole idea on this is stupid. Who knows, but why not try it out?’
In the post Tyler also addresses accusations of homophobia aimed at himself and his use of the word faggot.
