We’re excited be premiering Shame, a typically cathartic and crushing track from Tristan Shone’s long-time doom metal project, Author & Punisher.
Shone has abandoned drums and guitar in favour of his own hand-crafted instruments powered by wheels, throttles, pedals, and masks. The machinery (built from scratch from aluminium and steel) is so visually arresting that live audiences are reportedly scared by the very sight of them. Taking full advantage of his unique arrangement, Shame cleverly juxtaposes the massive drone sounds generated from his signature custom machinery with dark piano parts.
It’s all set in a diabolic Deliverance style wilderness, and it’s fucking rad.
The track will appear on forthcoming album MELK EN HONING which will be released via Housecore Records in Summer 2015.
