The guerrilla punk-rock collective will appear at Village Underground
Pussy Riot will host and perform at an “event for freedom, against war, discrimination and for support of political prisoners in Russia” at Shoreditch’s Village Underground tomorrow night (1 July).
The show will also feature Thurston Moore, appearing with his band, as well as a talk from Pussy Riot member Maria Alekhina about her NGO Zona.Media and sets from two Eastern European bands, The Jack Wood from Siberia, and Scofferlane from Moscow.
Zona.Media is an NGO that Pussy Riot members Nadia and Maria formed to expose “corrupt practices and human rights violations that take place in Russian prisons and other prisons around the world.”
For more information and tickets see the Village Underground website.
The Russian activists were also in conversation with Charlotte Church at Glastonbury’s Park Stage this weekend. See what they spoke about here.
