Niagara are Gabriele Ottino and Davide Tomat, the Turin-based experimental pop duo behind the synth-draped Vanillacola. It’s a cut from their album of last year, Don’t Take It Personally, and although the song has been around for a while, we’ve got the first look at the video, directed by Andrea Daddi.
Despite the fizzy name, the tone of Vanillacola‘s video is decidedly more sombre. After walking through a personality-stripped and endlessly whirring urban landscape, the subject of the video finally settles down in the stillness of nature. But is that any more comforting to the lone traveller? And as the lyrics ask, “does anybody care?”
