How High 2 is set for release in 2017

Redman and Method Man’s classic stoner-college movie How High is getting a reboot

Back in 2001 How High set the benchmark for rap-acting crossovers by pitting Redman, Method Man and a bunch of ganja against the confusing world of American college. It made Ice Cube’s Friday series look like a Disney franchise and it’s been hailed as a cult-classic in the “rappers getting stoned” genre ever since.

In a recent interview for XXL Redman confirmed the news that stoners around the world have been waiting for for a very long time: How High 2 is probably going into production. When answering questions about the hotly-anticipated Redman and Method Man album Blackout 3 he let slip that he wants the record to be the soundtrack for How High 2.

The Wu-Tang affiliate then told the magazine that “Yeah, How High 2 is not going to drop until at least 2017,” before adding “The writers are still writing the script. Just looking at it time wise and being realistic about it. By the time we shoot it, get it edited, color corrected, that’s going to be a year or so, so yeah about 2017.”

Method Man has also previously spoken about the film. He told TMZ back in 2013 that he (and his many baked fans) would love to see the film made as soon as “Universal get that stick up out their ass.”

Only time will tell, but if Universal can end their relationship with that stick then we might just have a pretty ‘dope’ sequel on our hands in 2017.
