Optimo’s JD Twitch announces cold wave compilation

So Low  will be released in collaboration with The Vinyl Factory on 19 February

JD Twitch, one half of Glagow’s Optimo, has announced that he will be using his vast knowledge to curate a new compilation for The Vinyl Factory‘s VF Editions label. The compilation is titled So Low and will focus on underground synth, cold wave and industrial music from the 80s, Twitch has elaborated on the title, “So Low is an occasional night at The Poetry Club in Glasgow where I play some of the music I played when I first started DJing back in 1987,” He explains, “At that time the audience I played to mostly loathed what I was playing and rarely danced but then shortly after, when House music arrived I found a different audience who actually liked to dance.”

The album will feature cult classics like Throbbing Gristle’s pounding Discipline (Berlin) alongside more obscure electronic cuts from the likes of Eric Random and Holger Hiller.

JD Twitch and The Vinyl Factory have also enlisted the help of Diagonal Records boss Powell and Golden Pudel resident Helena Hauff to provide remixes for some of the tracks on the record while London, Berlin and Glasgow launch parties are set to take place in early 2016.

So Low will be released on double vinyl and CD on 19 February. Check out the tracklist and artwork for So Low below.
