The entries will soon open for UK and Ireland-based acts keen to have a bash at performing at the iconic festival

Glastonbury Festival has revealed the details for its Emerging Talent competition.

The rules are simple: your music can be of any genre, you must be in the UK or Ireland, and you’ll need to supply a link to one original song on SoundCloud and a link to a video of yourself performing live (even if it’s only recorded in your bedroom).

Once your entry has been received, a panel of forty of the UK’s top music writers will help compile a longlist of 120 acts, which will then be whittled down to a shortlist of 8 artists by judges including Glastonbury organisers Michael and Emily Eavis. The live finals at Pilton Working Men’s Club in April will decide the winning act. According to a press release, in both 2014 and 2015, all eight of the finalists were offered slots at that year’s Festival.

As well as an enviable slot on one of the festival’s main stages, the winner will receive a £5,000 Talent Development prize from the PRS for Music Foundation. Two runners-up will also each be awarded a £2,500 PRS for Music Foundation Talent Development prize each.

You only have until 5pm Monday 25th January to register and you can enter here.
