Bestival announces new Spaceport stage

The festival are introducing a “colossal cosmodrome” to this year’s edition of the Isle of Wight event

Bestival have announced a brand new stage for 2016. Featuring a 20-foot high rocket at its centre and loaded with lazers, the stage also carries a state of the art db audio array processing sound system.

Co-curator of the festival, Rob Da Bank, says: “Be under no illusions my futuristic friends… This stage is going to blow your mind and take you interstellar like no other stage before… This is The Future of the dance. HMS Bestival, our trusty old ship, has sunk or otherwise been sucked down a Bermuda Triangle shaped whirlpool, and thus we are reinventing Robin Hill’s sacred rave space once more with a spaceship the likes Planet Earth has never witnessed.”

The acts announced for the stage so far are Diplo, Fatboy Slim and three-deck mixer Carl Cox playing a House Classics set.

The full line-up will be revealed soon as well as another headliner.

Bestival runs 8-11 September at Robin Hill Country Park near Newport on the Isle of Wight. Check out more information and tickets here.
