Canadian company develops high-speed vinyl press

With the pressure on vinyl production increasing, companies are developing new technologies to speed up the process

The latest company to present a solution to the rapidly-growing problem of pressing plant hold ups is Canada’s Viryl Technologies. The company aim to manufacture vinyl presses using new technologies with a guide price of $160,000 (about £80,000) and will ship worldwide.

Chad Brown, the CEO of Viryl, told Canada’s Globe and Mail that “The idea is to help the industry get rid of its own bottlenecks.”

He elaborated on the process saying, “We’re going to collect all this dark information that’s never been known in record pressing. Nozzle pressure, temperature, all this data that’s necessary to actually make a perfect record. In the fifties and sixties, they didn’t have this technology.”

The company says their first sale is going ahead within the next few days and they already have up to 100 further sales leads.
