The new London festival combines daytime festivities with a series of afterparties in some of the city’s best clubs
Sunfall is a new festival for London from the people behind Croatia’s Outlook and Dimensions and the team behind The Nest and XOYO.
The festival combines the best of field-based revelry with a string of afterparties “I’ve been concentrating on the clubs for the past four years, but always wanted to get back to festivals eventually,” says Andy Peyton, one of the festival’s directors, “There’s a lot of competition in London but we felt that musically there was a gap for the sort of event Sunfall will be.”
The outdoor event will take place 9 July in Brockwell Park before heading into some of the best clubs south of the river. While we’ll have to wait to find out what will take place in the clubs the festival have just announced their daytime line-up and it includes Anthony Naples, Ben Klock, Benji B, Digital Mystikz, Donato Dozzy, Fatima Yamaha, Goldie v D:Bridge, Hunee, Jamie XX, Jeremy Underground, Job Jobse, Joy Orbison, Josey Rebelle, Kamasi Washington, Mind Against, Mister Saturday Night, Moodymann, Omar-S, Om Unit v Sam Binga, Ryan Elliott, Sassy J, Shackleton, Yussef Kamaal Trio and Zomby.
After the daytime party festival-goers will be able to head over to some of South London’s best venues. Peyton’s co-director Noah Ball told Crack all about his vision, “The after dark element of Sunfall is just as important as the daytime. We wanted to work with the best night time spaces we could find; South London institutions such as Corsica Studio’s and Bussey Building, venues with great sound such as Phonox.”
With some huge names already announced and a concept that brings something fresh to London Sunfall is a festival that promises to shake things up in the capital with a commitment to underground “I want us to always be the festival that isn’t just about what headliner happens to be doing the festival circuit that summer.” Says Peyton.
